GFA presents buses to Ampem Darkoa, Hasaacas Ladies
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has presented buses to Ampem Darkoa Ladies and Hasaacas Ladies, champions of the Northern and Southern Zones of the 2023/24 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
This gesture forms part of the GFA’s Bus Acquisition Strategy, a key initiative aimed at strengthening football development by easing the transportation challenges faced by clubs and enhancing their operational efficiency.
The GFA President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, who supervised the presentation, emphasised that the move aligned with the association’s broader strategy to empower clubs and promote the sustainable growth of football across all levels in Ghana.
“These buses are not just assets—they are enablers,” the GFA President noted, adding: “They represent our commitment to supporting clubs and ensuring they have the necessary resources to thrive both on and off the pitch.”
Improve performance
The newly-awarded buses are expected to significantly improve the logistics and overall performance of both women's league champions, as they continue to set the pace in women's football in Ghana.
This latest support follows a similar initiative in 2023, when the GFA provided buses to nine Division One League clubs. Beneficiaries included Young Apostles FC, Basake Holy Stars, and Vision FC, all of whom have since earned promotion to the Premier League.
Other recipients included Techiman Heroes FC, Victory Club Warriors, New Edubiase FC, Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs, Okwawu United, and Hohoe United.
The GFA’s ongoing commitment to such developmental programmes demonstrates its vision to raise the standard of Ghanaian football at every tier, from grassroots to elite level.
