Ghana Basketball Association lauds RITE Sports after successful Africa Basketball Festival in Accra
The President of the Ghana Basketball Association (GBBA), Alex Kukula, has hailed the successful staging of the 2025 Africa Basketball Festival as a major milestone for the growth of basketball in Ghana and across the continent.
He described the event as a landmark achievement and praised RITE Sports Services and the Local Organising Committee for what he said was a professionally executed tournament marked by effective coordination and high standards.
“RITE Sports Services has established itself as a leader in the sports marketing and organisation space in Ghana so expected this high-level competition and engagement,” Mr Kukula stated.
The GBBA President congratulated the Nigerian team for their impressive showing and overall performance at the festival, noting that the level of competition demonstrated the rapid development of basketball across Africa. He also commended Spintex Knights for emerging winners of the maiden edition of the Bitcoin Classics, which was hosted in Accra for the first time.
Mr Kukula further applauded the fans whose enthusiastic support, he said, added to the excitement of the festival and contributed significantly to its success.
He called for sporting events to be formally integrated into the country’s December in Ghana programme, arguing that competitions such as the Africa Basketball Festival have the potential to boost tourism, promote youth participation and reinforce Ghana’s position as a regional hub for sports and entertainment during the festive season.
The GBBA President also stressed the importance of strong partnerships between sports federations, corporate sponsors and event organisers to sustain such initiatives and expand their long-term impact.
He concluded by reaffirming the association’s commitment to supporting basketball events across the country and working closely with stakeholders to ensure that sports play a central role in Ghana’s December celebrations.
