Responding to questions at a press conference on Monday, July 10, the Hasaacas Ladies defender noted that they were aware of the under performance of the recently-dissolved Black Meteors team at the just ended U23 AFCON held in Morocco, saying they will take a cue from the Meteors’ experience and live up to expectation.

“The team is focused and only need the support of Ghanaians to deliver in this Olympic campaign,” she said.

“We play to win as we all want to aim high and again we want to go forward too and my coach, Nora has brought in so many things into Black Queens to push us forward and to be competitive,” she added.

Linda, 30, however defended the Meteors saying: “I believe our men U-23 team did well. This is football and anything can happen.”

She continued: “They did whatever they have to do to qualify but unfortunately, it did not go as planned.

Meanwhile, a total of 23 players and 12 officials departed Accra for Conakry via Air Cote d’Ivoire, on Tuesday, July 11, to face their Guinean counterparts in the first leg of the first round of the qualifiers.

The match will come off on Friday, July 14, at Stade General Lansana Conte in Nongo, Conakry at 16:00GMT. The return leg is slated for Accra.
