Eric Nyame scored a brace in the 31st and 55th minutes after Musah Keita pulled even for Mali in the 36th minute before Richard Abekah put the game beyond the reach of Mali with Ghana’s third goal in the 85th minute  to put the hosts on top of the table.

At the opening ceremony, Mr Joe Kpenge, Director General of the National Sports Authority, said sports was a tool for inclusive national development and called on stakeholders to support disabled sports to create equal opportunities for all.

He urged the participating teams to demonstrate the spirit of friendship and fair play in spite of their desire and passion to win the ultimate for their respective countries.

Today at the same venue, Mali will take on Togo, while Ghana faces Niger.

Benin and Burkina Faso pulled out due to financial challenges.

The four-day tournament, which features hosts Ghana, Mali, Togo and Niger, ends tomorrow.

Ghana defeated Nigeria 3-1  to win the last edition of the tourney held in Togo last November.
