GPL Matchday 8: Basake Holy Stars hold Asante Kotoko
Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s pursuit of a fourth consecutive victory was brought to a halt on Sunday, October 27, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Basake Holy Stars at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Stadium in Nzema Anyinase.
Despite dominating possession and creating numerous chances, Kotoko were denied the opportunity to move to the top of the league table, leaving them three points adrift of leaders Bibiani Gold Stars.

Kotoko took the lead in the 36th minute through a well-taken goal by Albert Amoah, who finished neatly after a well-orchestrated team move.
The visitors seemed on course for another victory to continue their winning streak, but Basake Holy Stars had other plans.
The home side fought back and were rewarded in the 81st minute, scoring the equaliser to salvage a point and frustrate Kotoko’s ambitions.
Despite enjoying 58% possession, Kotoko struggled to put the game to bed, with both sides finishing with 24 goal attempts and 11 shots on target each.
The Porcupine Warriors failed to convert several key chances that could have sealed the win, while Holy Stars held firm in defense.
