Although the Phobians lost the game through Soulama Abdoulaye’s goalkeeping blunder, the club was duly compensated financially as they bagged  GH¢271,000 as net from the game watched by one of the biggest crowd in recent times.

Speaking to the Graphic Sports yesterday, a member of the management committee, who wanted to remain anonymous, gave the gross as GH¢453,000 after sales of all the 38,000 tickets printed for the game.

According to the official, many statutory deductions were honoured from the gross amount including VAT (17.5 per cent), Ghana Football Association (10 per cent), National Sports Authority (10 per cent), Premier League Board (five per cent), Ghana League Clubs Association (five per cent) together with cost of tickets printed and refreshment for special guests.

The official also hinted that aside the 10 per cent of the gross given to the NSA, additional five per cent was added as maintenance of the Accra Sports Stadium after which the remaining GH¢271,000 was handed to the club.

The money was an improvement over the GH¢237,700 realised in September 2013 at the Accra Sports Stadium in a Week 2 fixture between the two teams.
