The coaching job of the club became vacant in October last year after substantive coach, Slavko Matic, was pushed out of the club by supporters following a series of poor performances, leaving the assistant, David Ocloo, to handle the club.

However, a reliable source to the club confided to Graphic Sports that the two gaffers were using the media to push an agenda, with Konadu said to have made a subtle approach to the club about his availability for the position.

The source stated that the club was not interested in their services, and whatever they did, Hearts would not engage them because they did not have what it took to coach a big club like Hearts.

“When Togbe Afede saw the publication, he laughed over it because the two coaches are nowhere in the plans of the club, and the club is even not interested in their services,” the source said.

The highly placed source insisted that the team was not in the rush to hire the services of a new coach but would take their time to ensure they appointed the right person for the club.

“We want to take our time in appointing a new coach, but we want to start with the manager of the club before we move into the search for a coach.

The source hinted that the club had received several applications both local and expatriates, who have expressed interest in taking over the vacant managing director position in the club.

“Since the publication, we have received between 15 to 20 applications from people who are interested in managing the club, and I can tell you that some of them are even white people from outside the country,” the source said.

Accordingly, the source was of the view that they would not have any difficulty appointing another expatriate after Frank Nuttall, once the person was qualified and ready to do the work.

“The reason why Nuttall left was purely because of family issues and the club was still in good relations with him.
“We are expected to start the interviews in July and if another expatriate is more qualified, we will give the job to him,” the source said.
