Issah targets regular club role after Black Stars debut

Promising winger Abdul Aziz Issah, formerly of Dreams FC and Barcelona B, has set his sights on securing consistent playing time at the club level to cement a permanent place in the senior national team.

The 19-year-old made his Black Stars debut during the recent Unity Cup match in London, a moment he described as a significant milestone in his young career.

“After this debut, I think it is time to stay focused. It is time to get more playing time and more games at my club level and I think everything will be fine if I do well with my team,” Aziz said in an interview with GhanaFA.org.

Though a free agent following his departure from Barcelona B after one season, Aziz remains optimistic about his future and is determined to continue progressing on both the domestic and international fronts.

He recounted the emotional moment he was told he would feature in the Unity Cup game, describing a mix of excitement and nerves. “It was exciting when the coach told me I would be coming on.

Even though I was nervous about meeting experienced players, I was happy for the opportunity because I wanted to do well and prove myself,” he said.

Aziz, who previously featured for Ghana’s U-20 national team, expressed pride in his progression to the senior side. “It’s a dream come true.

Every player in Ghana wants to play for the Black Stars. I feel very proud to have moved from the youth level to the senior national team.”
