King Faisal's petition dismissed... But will appeal

The Disciplinary Committee of the GFA has thrown out King Faisal's petition against Aduana Stars for breaching some statutes of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Aduana were charged with violating Articles 34(1)(L) and 39(8)(b) of the Ghana Football Association General Regulations (GFA Regulations).

However, the disciplinary committee ruled that the petition had no merit after hearing the matter.

The decision has been communicated to both clubs.

The petitioner, King Faisal, sought to have Aduana forfeit two matches they played in the First Capital Plus Premier League in accordance with the provisions of General Regulations of the GFA.

According to the statement of offence, "Aduana Stars failed and refused to pay a cost of GH¢5,000 imposed by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association within the stipulated 14-day period after the cost was communicated to them on March 21, 2014 by the Ghana Football Association before playing two First Capital Plus Premier League matches against Hearts of Lions on April 16, 2014 and Berekum Chelsea on April 20, 2014 after the expiry of the stipulated 14 days after the cost was communicated to the them by the Ghana Football Association."

However, Alhaji Karim Gruzah, owner of King Faisal, says he will appeal the decision by the GFA's Desciplinary Committee (DC) to throw the case out as they had a genuine concern.

He said they would exhaust all legal procedures and if that failed, they would head straight to FIFA to complain.

Speaking to the Daily Graphic  yesterday, the football administrator said his lawyers had begun the process of appeal and by next week would file the appeal.

He said they were in the process of organising a press conference to tell the whole world the injustice meted out to them in this instance.

The Faisal boss claimed he had a legitimate case but could not fathom why the DC would rule against them.

He said Aduana claimed to have a stay of execution yet failed to pay the appropriate fine and argued that if Medeama were punished under that statute why not Aduana.
