Kotoko end losing streak, Hearts held by Nsoatreman FC
Asante Kotoko returned to winning ways with a commanding 2-0 victory over Aduana FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park yesterday to halt a dismal run of four consecutive defeats in the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors started brightly, with Patrick Asiedu breaking the deadlock in the 10th minute. The midfielder converted a stunning free-kick, his shot ricocheted off the underside of the crossbar before it landed beyond the line, much to the delight of Kotoko fans.

The goal was met with jubilant celebrations as Asiedu raced to embrace under-pressure Head Coach, Prosper Ogum.
Kotoko doubled their lead in the 60th minute when forward Albert Amoah, making his return from injury, finished off a low cross with a composed tap-in. Amoah’s goal secured the three points and marked a triumphant comeback for the player.
Second half controversy
The second half was not without drama, as the resumption of the match was delayed following an alleged invasion of match officials' dressing room by Aduana FC supporters.
The incident heightened tensions at the stadium, but play resumed under increased security.
Impact on league standings
The victory lifted Kotoko to seventh place on the league table with 18 points from 12 matches, offering hope for a resurgence in form.
Aduana FC, however, continues to struggle, as they languish in 13th place with 12 points.

A turning point?
For Head Coach Prosper Ogum, this result could mark a turning point in what has been a challenging season. “This win is crucial,” Ogum stated post-match. “It’s a testament to the team’s resilience and the support from our fans.”
Hearts of Oak held by Nsoatreman FC
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak were held to a 1-1 draw by a resilient Nsoatreman FC in an exciting Ghana Premier League clash at the University of Ghana Stadium last Saturday night.
The visitors took an early lead in the 12th minute through Stephen Diyou, who pounced on a defensive lapse to fire Nsoatreman in front.
Hearts of Oak, however, wasted no time in responding, with Salim Adams finding the equaliser just four minutes later, restoring parity and igniting hopes of a comeback.

Both teams displayed attacking intent in a match filled with energy and chances, but neither could capitalise further, leaving the scoreline unchanged at the final whistle.
League Implications
The draw sees Hearts of Oak dropped to fifth place on the league table with 19 points. Meanwhile, Nsoatreman FC moved up to 11th place with 12 points, a positive result as they aim to distance themselves from the relegation zone.
For Hearts of Oak, the result was a missed opportunity to claim all three points in front of their home crowd. The Phobians have shown flashes of brilliance this season but remain inconsistent in their pursuit of the league title.
