Kotoko, Hearts players are a disgrace — Polo

Accra Hearts of Oak legend, Mohammed Polo, has branded current players of Hearts and Kumasi Asante Kotoko a disgrace for their poor performances in this year's First Capital Plus Premier League.

The Phobians and the Porcupine Warriors are currently embroiled in a relegation battle, placing 14th and 11th respectively ahead of their league clash on Sunday, but Polo insists the players of both clubs should feel ashamed for lowering the standards expected from the top clubs.

"It looks as if things have taken a very bad turn and the players are not pulling their weight.

They are not fit and they always attribute their losses to others; that it was because of this or that," the Dribbling Magician told the Graphic Sports last Wednesday in a telephone interview.
"It's a disgraceful thing for a player of Hearts to find himself in such a situation or position with Hearts.

I think it is a disgrace to you as a player because Hearts and Kotoko are not small teams that you have to carry them to that level," he added.

Polo also warned the players of Hearts that they would not be forgiven by the fans if the club was relegated.

He said, "The players have to lift their game and know that Hearts are not small. If they are those that will take Hearts into relegation then its a disgrace to them, as footballers, they have to know that”.

"They have to ensure that they escape relegation because Hearts fans will never forgive them if that disaster ever happens”, he stressed.
Polo also stated that this weekend's clash between Hearts and Kotoko would not follow the form guide urging both teams to treat the spectators to beautiful football.
