Kotoko tipped to eliminate Bechem

Kumasi Asante Kotoko would be hoping to ride over fellow top-flight side, Bechem United for the second time this season when both teams square off at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday in their MTN FA Cup quarter-final encounter.

The Porcupine Warriors defeated Bechem 1-0 at the Nana Gyeabour Park during their Premiere League clash, but this time the stakes are high and the Bechem lads are expected to present a more formidable opposition even though Kotoko start as favourites at home.

Kotoko’s head coach, Michael Osei, confirmed at a pre-match press conference last Wednesday that he would be without the services of defender Emmanuel Asante and striker Kwame Boateng who are both nursing injuries.

In other fixtures, Soccer Mountaineers, Okwawu United will also hope to build upon the momentum in the GN Bank Division One League when they host Premier League side West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) at the Nkawkaw Park on Sunday.

Wa All Stars will face fellow regional rivals from the lower division, Wa Rockets, who will hope to cause a major upset at the Wa Park.

At the Carl Reindorf Park at Dansoman, Liberty Professionals will play host to Division One campaigners Elmina Sharks in what is expected to be a fierce encounter tomorrow.

The Scientific Soccer lads will be counting on the magical feet of talisman Latif Blessing, who missed their last FA Cup game against Samartex, to provide the goals to advance to the penultimate round.
