League resumes with a bang!

CK Akonnor’s Dreams FC will be hoping to pile more misery on the management of Accra Hearts of Oak when both teams clash at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday for the commencement of the second round of the Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians will be kicking-off the second round without their Japanese coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi, who mutually parted ways with the club last Tuesday to the dissatisfaction of most of the fans. Kenichi led the Phobians to hold Dreams FC to a 1-1 draw in the first round on May 29  at Dawu.

A win for Dreams will see them move to the same points with Hearts, who would be missing the service of their experienced striker Samuel Yeboah and playmaker Samudeen Ibrahim, who are both sweating on fitness.

Meanwhile, Kumasi Asante Kotoko travel to the Nana Ameyaw Park to engage Techiman City, who are unbeaten at home this season. It will be an opportunity for Kotoko to bring back the smile on the faces of their fans following their exit from the MTN FA Cup last Sunday.

MTN FA Cup semi-finalists Bechem United, will play host to Aduana Stars,  to be led in attack by the league’s leading marksman Yahaya Mohammed at the Nana Gyeabour Park, while bottom-placed New Edubiase United will seek to bounce back when they square it off with fifth-placed Medeama SC at Obuasi.

In other fixtures, WAFA will seek to maintain their unbeaten home record when they play host to Berekum Chelsea at the Sogakope Park, Liberty Professionals travel to Cape Coast to face struggling Ebusua Dwarfs, with league leaders Wa All Stars welcoming defending champions Ashgold to the Wa Park.
