Mr Lutterodt is among 20 Ambassador Generals, including  President John Mahama, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Bawku-Naaba and other distinguished dignitaries who have been nominated to receive peace medals from the federation.

The colourfully-labelled silver medal is bestowed on a recipient who is tasked to ensure peace before, during and after an election.

At a brief presentation ceremony in Mr Lutterodt’s office in Accra last Wednesday, the Fencing Federation boss also urged him to become a patron of the sport.

An elated Mr Lutterodt noted that it was an honour to be recognised by a sporting association of a different kind.

He accepted to be a patron of the discipline and promised to support the cause of fencing in the country.

He later presented GH¢1,000 to support their efforts towards ensuring peaceful elections on November 7.
