Mr Nketsia described the event as a successful one which he said gave the young swimmers a chance to improve on their personal times and not just winning medals.

“We have been encouraged and impressed by the quality of swimming talent on display especially since a good chunk of them are between the age range of 10 to 14,” Mr Nketsia said.

“The Swimming Community here in Ghana is a very organised one and that played a huge role in the success of the competition.

“In the end what stood out for me was the fact that these young swimmers were not fixated on winning medals but improving on their personal times.”
