Migrant steal show at Indomie Junior Weightlifting Championship

 

Migrants Weightlifting Club of the Ghana Immigration Service last Saturday won the "Best Club" award after winning four gold medals at the Indomie Junior and Youth Weightlifting Championship at the Accra Stadium.

Migrants’ Sandra Agban and Adi Kokuvi won the U-14 girls and boys category, David Akwei won in the boys U-17 division, while Anetu Aryee and Emmanuel Aryee emerged winners in the girls and boys U-10 categories respectively.

In the U-14 boys and U-17 girls categories, Adi Kokuvi and Faustina Awutey from Titans emerged winners. 

Dorinda Obeng finished second while Mary Aryee placed third in the U-14 girls division with Stephen Coffie and Richmond Aryee also taking the second and third positions respectively in the U-14 boys division.

Emmanuel Boateng and Abraham Adjei finished second and third respectively in the U-17 boys category, Asiatu Addy and Doris Afful also took second place in the U-10 girls division while Bridget Emefa and Judith Acheampong finished second and third in the U-17 girls.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lante Vanderpuije, lauded the organisers of the competition, saying "developing the interest of the sport at tender age is key".
