Ministry appeals for support

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has called on the various stakeholders including the sports federations, the National Sports Authority (NSA), the National Sports College and the National Youth Authority (NYA), to help the ministry to improve the lot of the country’s youth and sports.

It said this year may present a lot of challenges which may appear insurmountable but with the continued support from all stakeholders, the year could also bring in its wake creativity, ingenuity and the will to excel.

In a new year message signed by Mr Oto Plahar, the public relations officer of the ministry, on behalf of the Minister, Dr Mustapha Ahmed, the statememt said “the Ministry of Youth and Sports wish to extend the best of the season’s greetings to the sports fraternity, including the various federations, sponsors and stakeholders and in particular the media for the splendid partnership and support throughout the year”.

It expressed its gratitude for the various roles played by all in ensuring the successful completion of programmes and activities throughout last year, admitting that “the Ministry has had its fair share of operational challenges but through your criticisms, suggestions, and cooperation we have overcome them and come this far”.
