Morocco stint has helped me financially — Nathaniel Asamoah

Former Medeama SC striker, Nathaniel Asamoah, has said he has no regrets about his abortive stint with Moroccan side, Raja Casablanca, because he managed to accumulate huge salaries and bonuses that would have taken him three years to acquire if he had stayed in the Ghana Premier League.

According to the 26-year-old who is currently one of the most sought after free agents in Ghanaian football, he left Raja by a mutual agreement after four appearances because he was constantly played out of position on the right wing.

"I don't have any regrets even though things didn't go well for me in Morocco," Asamoah told the Graphic Sports in a telephone interview last Tuesday.

"In my five-month stint with Raja I made money that would have taken me three years to make in the Ghana League.

I went there when the Ghana Premier League season was coming to a close and they were around pre-season so I was a bit fatigued, he explained..

I have always been a central striker but I got there and I was played constantly as a winger; I am not used to running up and down as well as defending’ “, he added.

Asamoah said that although he was not fully fit, he had received numerous offers from Ghanaian clubs which wanted his services for the second round of the ongoing Premier League season.

"They know my reputation and what I can do in terms of goalscoring. There have been at least five clubs but I can't mention them because we are at various stages of negotiations," he stated.
