MTN FA Cup quarterfinals: Berekum Chelsea to face Bechem United

Berekum Chelsea will take on Bechem United in a highly anticipated all-Premier League clash in the quarterfinals of the MTN FA Cup.

After the draw last Friday, it emerged that the two regional rivals, both with strong histories in Ghanaian football, will battle for a place in the semifinals.

Bechem United, winners of the 2016 FA Cup, have experience in the competition and once represented Ghana in the CAF Confederation Cup. 

Meanwhile, Berekum Chelsea, who won the 2010/11 Ghana Premier League, have twice participated in the CAF Champions League (2012, 2014) but are yet to feature in the CAF Confederation Cup. 

A victory in this competition would give them an opportunity to make their continental debut in that tournament.

Elsewhere, lower-tier side Attram De Viser will look to continue their impressive FA Cup run as they face PAC Academy, hoping to become one of the few non-Premier League teams to reach the final.

Karela United, who have struggled in the premier league this season, will aim to turn their fortunes around by chasing silverware in the FA Cup when they take on Golden Kick FC.

Meanwhile, True Democracy is set to play the winner of the clash between Asante Kotoko and Sekondi Eleven Wise, a match that could see another Premier League powerhouse advance to the final stages.
