National Sports Authority disputes legitimacy of Ghana Table Tennis Interim Committee

The Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Professor Peter Twumasi, has emphatically stated that the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) is operating illegally and should not be recognized by stakeholders.

Twumasi underscored that according to the law, the NSA is mandated to recognize only one governing body, which is the Ghana Table Tennis Association and its duly constituted executives. This body is responsible for overseeing all table tennis activities and promoting the sport in Ghana.

Speaking at a meeting held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the National Sports Authority's offices in Accra, attended by executives from both the Ghana Table Tennis Association and the NSA, Twumasi commended the Association for its commendable performance over the past years.

He urged them to focus on completing the regional reorganization and ensuring that all associated bodies meet the requirements for the upcoming elections in December 2023.

In addition, Professor Twumasi urged the executives to concentrate on the development of the sport and not be swayed by distractions from any other entities.

He encouraged them to be prepared for the Africa Games in 2024, which will be hosted by Ghana.
