For their feat, Nsoroma GPS were presented with a trophy, some edible products and cash. The competition also showcased a display of bat and bowl from the Under -15 and U-13 age groups under the auspices of the Accra Juvenile Cricket League.
The event, the brainchild of Samuel Asamoah, an educationist, was designed to entice the youth, especially street children, to develop interest in the game.
Speaking to the Daily Graphic, Mr Asamoah said developing the potentials of the youth in cricket would not only sustain the game but would also take them off the street.
That, he said, would make them disciplined.
While commending Taysec Construction and Homes for their support, he said it was important for other corporate bodies to help with sponsorship packages to make the competition more sustainable.
“With such sponsorships, the competition will not only be lively, but will also make life relevant for the numerous children on our streets”, he noted.
