Nyantakyi retained as GFA President

The highest decision making body of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has retained incumbent Kwesi Nyantakyi as president at an extraordinary gathering.

Nyantakyi was retained by 97 out of 123 members present at the University of Development Studies (UDS), Hall in Tamale, on Tuesday morning.

The decision offers Nyantakyi a successive third term in office for the next four years.

He went unopposed following other candidates, Ofeibia Ramatu and George Ankomah’s failure to meet requirement ahead of nomination deadline last month.

Nyantakyi, credited for qualifying Ghana to a third successive World Cup came to power in 2005,  having served as a the vice chairman and also the chairman for GFA in as many months.

The president thanked the delegates for their constant trust in him and promised to do more to move Ghana football forward.
