Despite the victory, Olympics are still rooted in the relegation zone with 22 points. Goals by Benjamin Arthur and Kofi Bekoe’s in each half ensured Tom Strand’s side bagged the maximum points.

Wa All Stars were nothing compared to the side that won the league last season as they sat back to soak the pressure in the entire first half while Olympics ran at them, creating all the chances but fluffing all the opportunities.

Kwame Boateng was the first to break the All Stars defence in the ninth minute when he dummied two players to release a shot, but goalkeeper Richard Ofori dealt with it.

Olympics continued to mount the pressure in search of the opener with Bekoe, Arthur and Boateng combining effectively to torment the Wa All Stars backline that looked flat.

The break-through came in the 28th minute when Emmanuel Asante’s well-taken free-kick met Arthur, who was at the right spot in the box, to head home the opener.

All Stars had no clue to the flair of Olympics and barely threatened their goalkeeper Michael Sai, who had been on holiday throughout.

After recess, the host maintained their tempo as All-Stars continued to chase their shadows, and in the 52nd minute, Bekoe made amends after a series of misses when he danced his way through the All Stars defence to fire past goalkeeper Ofori to send the sparse partisan crowd into frenzy.

All Stars fought for consolation, including Sadiq Alhassan, who managed to slip through a shot in the 83rd minute but could not beat goalkeeper Sai.
