Though there were other events, it was the football final game that attracted the most attention and it lived up to its billing with the two sides, keenly competing in their bid to emerge champions.

In the end, ADB paid for their wastefulness in front of goal, with Bank of Africa scoring the only goal to finish as winners of the event and took home the coveted trophy.

In the other events, CAL Bank won the 50-metre dash women and the 4X100 relay (unisex) trophies, while GN Bank took home the Volley Ball and table Tennis trophies
NIB Bank annexed the female penalty shootout trophy, while HFC bank won the highly competitive 100 meter dash.

In the CEOs Centre to goal event, the Chief Executive Officer of Omni Bank, Mr Philip Oti Mensah emerged winner, scoring two out of three kicks.

The one day event, a prelude to the annual Banking Awards, attracted more than 20 universal banks and was put together by the Corporate Initiative Ghana (CIG) and Joy Sports, with Vodafone Business Solutions as the main sponsor.

On behalf of the executives of CIG, Mr Okine congratulated the winners in the various events and urged those who could not win to prepare for their opportunity next year.

“This event has come to stay and we will make it even bigger and better next year because we have noted the minor lapses which will be addressed to meet the full standard we anticipate”, he said.
Mr Okine said the event was a good opportunity for the country’s hardworking bankers to detress and put them in shape for the main event, which is the Ghana Banking Awards which comes off next week.
