Prof. Nelson Buah chairs GUSA Local Organising Committee

A fifteen-member Local Organising Committee  (LOC) for the 23rd Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games has been inaugurated at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

The Committee, chaired by  the Pro-Vice Chancellor of UCC, Professor John Nelson Buah,  would see to the effective organisation and success of the games scheduled between   June 11 and  22, 2014.

Eight other subcommittees were inaugurated during the brief ceremony.

In an address, the Vice Chancellor of UCC, Prof. D.D. Kuupole, said the university was privileged to host the games and, therefore, gave an assurance that  the university would put its sports facilities  into good shape before the   commencement of the festival.

He charged coaches of  UCC to prepare thoroughly towards the game to enable them to form a formidable team capable of retaining the trophy for the university.

For his part, Professor Buah said the festival was an opportunity to further market  UCC as one of the first-class  universities worldwide.

He therefore called for total teamwork and commitment  from all members of the committee and sub committees to ensure the success  of the games.
