The sports items, which would be distributed to 11 public schools in the district, were handed over to the Director of the Shai Osudoku District Education Office, Freda Koasi, at a ceremony at Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region.
In his address, the project manager of RTP, George Ahiable, challenged the heads of the beneficiary schools to use soccer and volley ball games to educate the pupils on good management practices, good life skills, financial accountability and proper housekeeping.
“If you use sports to teach life skills at the basic level it sticks with the children and helps them in their future endeavours to greater success,” he noted.
Recieving the items, Madam Koasi expressed gratitude to RTP and pledged to monitor their use in the various schools.
She appealed for more sports equipment for schools in the district to enable the pupils to generate much interest in sports.
