Stanbic Bank supports Swag Awards

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has received a GH¢10,000 donation from Stanbic Bank towards the annual SWAG Awards scheduled for Saturday, May 17 at the Banquet Hall of the State House.

Nana Dwemoh Benneh, head of Personal and Business Banking at Stanbic Bank, who made the presentation stated: “Our purpose is to make progress in the lives of young people and the sporting community.

“Encouraging our people to actively engage in sports will be helping them to live fuller lives. SWAG shares this vision and as such we are glad to be working with the association in this direction over the years.  

We look forward to further join forces to develop sports in Ghana”, he added.

The president of  SWAG, Mr Ackah Anthony said the association was appreciative of the bank’s continued support of the association’s activities urging the bank to remain allies of SWAG in its quest to develop sports and recognise distinguished sportsmen and sportswomen and personalities in the country.

This year’s event is aimed at celebrating the Black Stars’ third successive participation at the World Cup. The launch of the 39th SWAG Awards  is scheduled for Friday, April 25 at the Media Centre of Accra Sports Stadium.
