Rondo Fest 2025 Set to uncover grassroots sports talent and unite communities
The President and Founder of Rondo Fest, Samuel Nii Adotei Brown, has reaffirmed the festival’s mission to revive grassroots sports and help discover promising young athletes who could represent Ghana on major international stages.
Speaking in an interview, Mr Nii Adotei Brown shared that Rondo Fest 2025 will feature a vibrant line-up of activities, including football, basketball, tennis, swimming, boxing, card games, video game competitions, music concerts, and a food festival. According to him, the initiative is a strategic effort to boost community participation and uncover raw talent in various sporting disciplines.
“We want to bring back grassroots games to support the sports federations in identifying talents who can eventually represent Ghana at the African Games or even the Olympic Games,” he said. “Scouts will be present to spot exceptional talent, and we will soon announce partnerships with sports academies and federations.”
He also revealed plans to meet with officials from the National Sports Authority to deepen institutional support for the initiative.
Daniella Senyi-Philips, Communications Manager for Rondo Fest, echoed the festival’s focus on community development and athlete empowerment. She emphasised that the festival goes beyond competition, aiming to provide much-needed exposure for aspiring athletes.
“We want to bring communities together through football and other sporting events,” she said. “This is about creating meaningful opportunities for players—especially those who participate just for fun—to build careers and pursue their dreams.”
Mr Brown also expressed heartfelt appreciation to Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu, President and Founder of the Afro-Arab Group of Companies, for his unwavering support of the event. He further extended his gratitude to Nii Adote Odaawulu I, Sempe Muslim Akwashong, and the Supreme Head of Gbese Sonmenaa, whose backing has significantly strengthened the vision behind Rondo Fest.
Several communities have already confirmed their participation in this exciting initiative, including New Bortianor, SCC, Dansoman, Afienya, Banana Inn, Chorkor, and Mamprobi.
Rondo Fest is scheduled to kick off on Saturday, 19 April 2025, at Zulka Park (Dansoman Keep-Fit), promising a high-energy celebration of sport, talent, and community spirit.
