The Congolese giants are reportedly seeking to sign on the livewire of the Ghanaian side, Malik Akowuah, who crowned an outstanding performance between the two sides with a classic goal in their group opener in Lubumbashi last month.

The CEO of Medeama, James Essilfie, disclosed this to the Graphic Sports on Tuesday, adding that the African Super Champions also expressed interest in their leading striker Abass Mohammed.

According to him, the CEO of TP Mazembe put in a bid for the two players immediately after the said match which the Ghanaians lost 1-3.

Mr Essilfie further revealed that some Israeli clubs had started making overtures for the Black Satellites defensive duo of Daniel Amoah and Moses Sarpong, as well as offensive midfielder Bismark Oppong.

He stated that negotiations were ongoing with an agent who notified the club of the interest by the Israeli clubs and that no agreement was yet to be reached on any of the players.

The president of Medeama, Moses Armah, confirmed the story, adding that another offensive midfielder of the club, Eric Kwakwa, who scored that great goal against Mamelodi Sundowns in Pretoria during the playoff, was being chased by some South African clubs.

He added that some French Ligue 1 clubs were also interested in Amoah and Sarpong, both of whom were in the Satellites’ line-up against Senegal in their African Championship qualifier in Dakar last Saturday.

All the six players have been instrumental in Medeama’s African and Premier League campaign this season.

Mr Armah, aka Mospacka, was hopeful that the deals would go through so the club could get some money to offset the huge overhead cost involved in the participation of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Mospacka is again expected to solely fund Medeama’s trip to Tanzania tomorrow to play Young Africans in the next Group A match in Dar es Salaam on Saturday.
