Stand solidly behind club - Nyaho urges Hearts fans

Hearts of Oak board member, Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has praised the club's support base for the massive attendance at the club’s league opener against New Edubiase United in Accra, saying the crowd played a part in the important win.

More important to him, however, was the new level of fitness the team demonstrated, and said the coach deserved commendation for bringing the team to that high fitness level.

Hearts won by a narrow margin, courtesy a late goal, after their opponents had shown enough resistance against the improved Phobians. Last week, the club stunned Medeama at Tarkwa to maintain an unbeaten run in the league and move to the second position on the log.

Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe, one of the main critics of Coach Kenichi Yatsuhasi during the pre-season preparations when Hearts lost one game after another, said the team's display last Sunday, at least, exonerated the Japanese coach in his development of the team.

He said supporters who deserted the stands for most part of last season would likely return as they did in the match against New Edubiase if the team continued to put up such inspiring performances.

He urged all Hearts supporters to contribute in whatever capacity to push the team forward, insisting "we do not need to occupy particular positions to be useful to the club".

"This is a good start, and I am encouraged by the huge presence of our supporters," he said.

"We expect the team to progress from this stage to achieve even bigger things this season."
