The Starlets beat their German counterparts 2-1 in a thrilling final, crowning their impressive performance with three individual awards.

Goalkeeper Prince Asempa, from the academy side of Bechem United, emerged the best goalkeeper of the competition, while his compatriot David Cudjoe, was the goal king, with Emmanuel Toku scooping the best player of the competition.

The Starlets also beat hosts Namibia 8-0 on their way to the final.

It was Coach Paa Kwesi Fabian’s first international assignment this year after his previous squad was disqualified from the CAF-organised Africa U-17 tournament for fielding over- aged players.

Coach Fabian is confident this time of securing a spot for the next Africa U-17 tournament slated for Madagascar next year ahead of a two-legged qualifier against Liberia in June.
