Today’s First Capital Plus League thrills ; Kotoko, Hasmal in dicey duel

After the exciting first week results of the First Capital Plus Premier League last Sunday, football fans are in for yet another fun-filled moment today as the wounded Kumasi Asante Kotoko vent its spleen on Sekondi Hasaacas in what promises to be a tight game at the Baba Yara SportsStadium in Kumasi.

Hasaacas last Sunday made the Essipon Stadium a waterloo for Liberty Professionals with a 3-1 win and, therefore, pose a real threat to Kotoko if that scoreline is anything to go by.

But with coach Masud Didi Dramani’s confidence soaring in spite of Kotoko’s 0-1 loss to Aduana Stars at the Agyeman Badu Park, Hasaacas could be laughing at the wrong side of their mouth, especially on a day goal poacher Ahmed Toure, Frank Sarfo Gyamfi, Michael Akuffo and Jordan Opoku are expected to click.

While Kotoko and Hasaacas sort themselves out, rivals Accra Hearts of Oak, who put smiles on the faces of their fans, thanks to a Gilbert Fiamenyo goal against WAFA, will be in Berekum in a bid to surmount the Chelsea hurdle in another dicey encounter.

Chelsea did not fare well against All Stars in Wa in their first match and would seek to make amends this time in their own backyard. Kpando Heart of Lions will play as guests of Accra Great Olympics at the Accra Stadium.

Olympics showed glimpses of their old self but fumbled when it mattered most at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium against Ashantigold. The Dade boys, led by Coach Kassim Mingle, are, therefore, expected to prove their fans wrong by winning against the Kpando lads.

WAFA, like Olympics, failed to glitter in their first outing and are hoping to collect their first three points on their premiership return today, though the pedigree of Ashantigold could be a mouthful for the former Feyenoord Academy boys.

In the other matches, New Edubiase welcome Aduana Stars to Obuasi, Medeama SC host Wa All Stars at the Tarkwa T and A Park, Liberty Professionals host B.A. United at Dansoman, with Bechem United and Inter Allies lock horns at Bechem.
