Kylian Mbappé marked his competitive debut for Real Madrid with a goal, helping his new team secure a 2-0 victory over Atalanta in the Uefa Super Cup held in Warsaw.

The French forward, who joined Madrid on a free transfer in June after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, found the back of the net with a powerful strike from a Jude Bellingham pass. This came after Federico Valverde had opened the scoring for the Spanish champions in the second half.

Madrid, who triumphed over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final earlier this year, celebrated their sixth Super Cup win, solidifying their status as one of Europe's most successful clubs.

The match saw a tense, goalless first half with both teams coming close to breaking the deadlock. Eder Militão's attempted clearance hit the crossbar, while Rodrygo's shot also struck the woodwork. Atalanta's Mario Pasalic had a chance to score in the second half, but his header was expertly saved by Thibaut Courtois.

Real Madrid eventually took the lead in the 59th minute when Vinícius Júnior skillfully set up Valverde for an easy finish. Although Atalanta's goalkeeper Juan Musso made several crucial saves to keep his team in the match, including denying both Vinícius and Bellingham, Madrid remained in control.

Mbappé then sealed the victory in the 69th minute, converting a pass from Bellingham to make it 2-0, ensuring a comfortable finish for the reigning Champions League winners.
