Brighton’s Ibrahim Osman Joins Feyenoord on loan

Brighton & Hove Albion winger Ibrahim Osman has secured a season-long loan move to Dutch Eredivisie side Feyenoord.

The 19-year-old Ghanaian international joined Brighton earlier this summer from Danish club Nordsjaelland in a deal worth approximately £16 million.

Albion’s technical director, David Weir, highlighted the benefits of the loan move for Osman's development. "Ibrahim has had a good pre-season with the squad," said Weir. "We have strong competition in the wide areas, and the feeling is that it is much better for Ibrahim’s development for him to be playing regular senior football. This is an excellent opportunity for him to play at Feyenoord, and we will be watching his progress as the season unfolds."

Osman, who made 44 appearances for Nordsjaelland last season, scoring 10 goals and providing eight assists, will add pace and agility to Feyenoord's attacking lineup. Reflecting on his move, Osman stated, "At Feyenoord, young players get the chance to develop. For my development, it is good to play here and improve aspects of my game. I want to use my qualities to help the team achieve great things in the Eredivisie and in Europe."

Feyenoord, who recently won the Johan Cruyff Schaal and started their league campaign with a 1-1 draw against Willem II Tilburg, have qualified for this season's Champions League group stages. However, Osman's debut for the Dutch side is delayed as he awaits the issuance of his combined residence and work permit.

Osman, who has already earned two caps for Ghana, will don the number 38 shirt for Feyenoord this season.
