WISA award is motivation to do more for disability sport — Naa Dedei Sampah
THE Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Wendy Foundation, Naa Dedei Sampah, has said she is fired up to continue to support disability sports through her foundation after she was recognised as one of the 32 women achievers at this year’s Women in Sports Association Awards (WISA) last weekend.
Ms Sampah, a journalist at HSTV and a member of the Functional Fitness League Ghana, was honoured at the prestigious awards ceremony for using her platform to support and promote disability sportsmen and women in the country, including Amputee Football, Para Powerlifting and Wheelchair Tennis.

She noted that her interest and passion lay in disability sports and would promote them to reach their highest goals in their various disciplines.
“In fact, I felt very proud last Saturday and this award will certainly encourage me to work very hard. I didn’t know somebody somewhere was watching me. I thank the directors of HSTV who gave me the opportunity as a television producer and sports photographer,” she said.
She also expressed gratitude to the organisers of the awards and encouraged physically challenged persons to take advantage of the various sporting opportunities available to them in the country.
She dedicated her WISA Achievers Award to all female journalists, as well as the HSTV team, especially Andy Ampofo, Dennis Moore, Mr Sammy Heywood Okine, Mr Henry Tetteh Djangmah, Kwaku Kyei-Boadu, Mary Afia Nhyira Koomson, Emmanual Akpabli, Abraham Sampah, Madam Naa Besa Nunoo and Evelyn Quartey – Papafio.
