WTF honours Otu as he officiates in World Championship
The World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) has honoured Federick Lartey Otu, technical director of the Ghana Taekwondo Association (GTA) for his contribution towards the development of the game in the country.
He was among a few individuals who were presented with the honour and an accompanying citation after officiating in the 2013 World Championship in Puebla, Mexico.
The citation which was signed by the president of the federation, Chungwon Chone said among others, “… in appreciation of your service and outstanding contribution to the development of Taekwondo.”
Mr Otu who is also the founder of Mission Taekwondo International, last Friday presented the citation to Alice Attipoe, acting Director General of the National Sports Authority to inform her about the honour bestowed on him.
Ms Attipoe, congratulated him for the honour he had brought to the country and said it was good Otu had projected the country in a positive image.
She was amazed at what he started very modestly had now brought so much honour to the country.
She advised that whatever one starts small in live could become bigger with hope and urged Otu to continue with his support for the sports in the country.
