Police arrest three, including father, over viral video of toddler given alcohol at Kade

The Ghana Police Service has arrested three people in connection with a viral video showing a two-year-old child being given an alcoholic drink at Kade in the Eastern Region.

The suspects are Tawiah Precious, also known as T’ Moni, aged 18, Emmanuel Dadzie, also known as Shapiro, aged 24, and Stephen Amoako, aged 22, who is the father of the child.

They were arrested on Saturday, December 20, 2025, according to a statement issued by the Criminal Investigation Department.

The statement said officers from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team carried out the arrests at Okumani, a suburb of Kade, after intelligence-led operations.

The two-year-old child has since been rescued and handed over to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit in Asamankese for care while arrangements are made to reunite the child with the mother, the police said.

The Criminal Investigation Department said the three suspects are in custody and will be taken before court to face charges.

Police said efforts are ongoing to trace and arrest two other suspects, Afram Bright, also known as Mogabe, and another man known only as Panyin, who are said to be at large.

The statement was signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, the Public Relations Officer of the Criminal Investigation Department.

She said the Police Service will apply the law in cases involving the abuse of children.
