itel launches A100 smartphone with strong-signal technology
itel has unveiled its latest smartphone, the itel A100, positioning it as an ultra-durable, strong-signal device designed to meet the needs of young people, students and outdoor workers.
The new model, priced from GHC 1,000, is the brand’s newest effort to offer affordable but reliable technology suited to modern lifestyles.
The company said the A100 brings together a large display, enhanced durability, smooth performance and AI-powered features in a slim 8.1mm frame. According to itel, the device meets IP65 standards for dust, water and drop resistance, giving users over four years of dependable performance. It is engineered to withstand harsh environments without compromising on appearance.
A key highlight of the A100 is its improved connectivity for users living or working in low-signal locations. The device features an upgraded network system that supports 4.5G LTE-Advanced, which the company says delivers speeds “2–3 times faster than standard 4G”. This upgrade enables faster HD downloads, smooth social media usage, lightweight gaming and clearer calls with stable reception.
To further improve communication, the A100 incorporates the itel UltraLink app, allowing users to make free calls and send messages via Bluetooth within a 150-metre range among Transsion devices. The brand says this feature will help users stay connected even when off-grid.
The A100 also features a suite of AI tools that itel describes as smart software interaction. These include AI Writing, AI Translation and AI Capture to Search, which work together to enhance productivity and creativity.
For entertainment and daily use, the phone comes with a 6.75-inch Bright Colourful Display supported by a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother viewing. It also includes wet and oily touch technology, allowing users to operate the device effectively even in rainy or messy conditions.
Internally, the A100 is powered by a Unisoc T7250 octa-core processor, 128GB of storage and an extended (8 + 16) GB RAM configuration. A 5000mAh battery with 15W Fast Charge ensures long-lasting usage throughout the day.
The model is available in three colour options: Shadow Titanium, Star Titanium and Fresh Green. Itel said the design combines modern aesthetics with practical durability.
With the launch of the A100, the company reaffirmed its mission of making technology accessible. It stated its vision as “popularizing technology”, emphasising that advanced mobile features should be a right rather than a privilege. Itel noted that it continues to manage costs carefully while maintaining quality, ensuring entry-level users can access future-ready devices at affordable prices.
Customers who purchase the A100 are also eligible for 30GB of free Telecel data for six months.
Established more than 15 years ago, itel describes itself as a technology empowerment brand committed to providing budget-friendly consumer electronics to emerging markets. It now operates in more than 80 markets worldwide, including sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.
