5 Ghanaian designers reach finals in Accra Mall Fashion Fund
Accra Mall, Accra’s premier shopping destination, has come up with its top five finalists for the Accra Mall Fashion Fund 2024 at the Empowerment Summit Event held at Silverbird Cinema.

The finalists, all designers, celebrated for their creativity and potential, are set to compete for the ultimate prize in a competition that aims to launch the next generation of Ghanaian fashion talent.
They are: Enock Kwaa, Eleanor Seku, Hilda Oforiwa Opoku, Rukaya Asedu and Erica Dogbeda Yaotsey.
A release issued by the mall said the finalists stood out from a pool of talented applicants and would vie for a $3,000 cash prize and the opportunity to secure a prime space at Accra Mall to showcase their collections, providing them with a platform to grow their brands in one of Ghana’s most prestigious retail locations.
They will also receive mentoring, exposure and face exciting challenges that reflect real-world fashion industry scenarios.
Their creativity will be put to the test as they compete for the grand prize, which includes not only the cash reward but also an opportunity to gain critical visibility within the fashion industry.

“The Empowerment Summit, part of the three-month Accra Mall Fashion Fund initiative, brought together designers, fashion enthusiasts and industry experts. The theme of the event was “Antiquarian”. The day was filled with invaluable insights into fashion history, branding and design,” the release said.
Speakers including a lecturer at Blue Crest College, Agnes Odambea, emphasised the significance of antiquity in modern fashion.
The General Manager of Accra Mall Ghana, Denise Asare, praised the designers for their innovation and dedication, urging them to use the Fashion Fund as a stepping stone to elevate their brands.
“This initiative was created to give you an avenue to grow and showcase your unique talents,” she said.
