Ghana will host more than 350 global and African health leaders in December when Accra becomes the venue for the second edition of the World Health Expo (WHX) Leaders Africa Summit, a high-level forum dedicated to accelerating healthcare transformation and building resilient health systems across the continent.
The summit, scheduled for December 9–10, 2025, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, will be inaugurated by President John Dramani Mahama under the theme “Catalysing Africa’s Health Revolution through Investment, Innovation, Impact and Infrastructure.” It will bring together heads of state, ministers, investors, policymakers, and development partners to explore strategies for sustainable and inclusive healthcare development.

Announcing the event in Accra, Minister for Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, said hosting the WHX Leaders Africa Summit in Ghana reflects the country’s leadership and commitment to advancing healthcare across the continent. “This summit provides an essential platform to align policy, innovation, and investment, ensuring that every African has access to quality healthcare,” he said. “Through collaboration and strategic partnerships, we can build resilient systems that serve both current and future generations.”
Building on the success of the inaugural edition, the 2025 summit aims to move from dialogue to measurable action by unlocking strategic investments and forging transformative alliances. It will feature discussions on infrastructure, technology, and innovation as key drivers of Africa’s next phase of healthcare development.
Solenne Singer, Vice President of Informa Markets Healthcare, which organises the event, said WHX Leaders Africa is designed to connect governments, investors, and innovators to shape the continent’s healthcare future. “By connecting visionaries, governments, and investors, we are building the foundation for Africa’s health revolution and delivering impact that will shape generations,” she stated.
Delegates will include senior government officials, ministers of health, private sector executives, and development finance leaders, alongside innovators and researchers from across Africa and beyond. Discussions will centre on strengthening health security, scaling up local pharmaceutical manufacturing, and expanding equitable access to healthcare through digital solutions.
The summit’s first day will focus on mobilising investment and strengthening healthcare infrastructure, with sessions examining policy reforms and financing mechanisms to drive long-term transformation. The second day will highlight innovation, health equity, and security, emphasising the role of technology, youth-led innovation, and preventive health in shaping Africa’s future.
Organisers say WHX Leaders Africa reflects a growing global recognition of Africa’s role in shaping the future of healthcare delivery. It aims to position the continent as a hub for health innovation and investment, while advancing the shared goal of universal, affordable, and sustainable care.
