Afro-Arab boss appointed Peace Ambassador
The African Youth Assembly for Peace has appointed the Chief Executive Officer of Afro-Arab Group of Companies, Alhaji Abdul Salamu Amadou as a Peace Ambassador for Africa.
According to a statement issued by AYAP, Alhaji Amadou, owner of the Afro-Arab Group of Companies which has nine subsidiaries was appointed on account of his contribution to the economy of Ghana.
The statement lauded his contribution to the development of Ghanaian youth in terms of job creation through his businesses including Afro-Arab Micro Finance Company Limited, Afro-Arab Travel & Tour, Afro-Arab Properties Limited, Afro-Arab Company Limited, A & A Sports Consult, Afro-Arab Foundation, Afro-Arab Mining Company Limited, Afro-Arab Telecommunication Company Limited and Afro-Arab Mineral Water Company Limited.
"Most of the underlying causes of instability in Africa are poverty and unemployment. So we laud you for your contribution to job creation and Corporate Social Responsibility projects which improve the lot of Ghanaian and African youth," the statement said.
The statement also reminded Alhaji Amadou of his pledge to provide the African Youth Assembly for Peace with an office in Accra.
Alhaji Amadou who won the Most Promising Entrepreneur of the Year award at the 2016 West African Regional Magazine Achievers Awards has also recently been nominated for the Forty Under 40 Awards in the Banking and Finance category.
The citation that accompanied his nomination said: "Popularly known as ‘’Chairman’’, Alhaji Abdul Salamu Amadu is the CEO and founder of the Afro Arab Group of Companies which has seven subsidiaries operating in different sectors of the economy.
"Born and bred in Nima, he has grown a microfinance business that has supported over 500 – 1000 small and medium scale business within five (5) years within the Nima/Maamobi and Newtown.
"He also supports community development through the CSR department of his Company and his initiatives: the Yaa Saalam Opportunity Center and Hope for the Street Kids".
