Coconut Grove wins CIMG award
Coconut Grove Beach Resort, Elmina, was adjudged the CIMG Hospitality Facility of The year 2017 at the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIMG) Awards dinner dance held in Accra recently.
The beach resort, which opened its doors to its first client on December 14, 1994, has won the award twice in three years, with the first being in 2015.
Reading a citation accompanying the award, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Dr Ziblim Barri Iddi, said Coconut Grove Beach Resort had become a facility of choice through its ability to profess the service of indigenous cuisine, showcasing indigenous architecture and culture and the provision of total hospitality to discerning patrons.
He said the resort’s efforts to blend culture, tourism and hospitality to give an unforgettable experience remained one of its hallmarks that put it in leading positions.
Dr Iddi praised the management of the resort for developing the capacity of the staff which was reflected in the high level of professionalism in the execution of their duties.
“Patrons have come to agree with your hotel’s tag line—‘Memories worth repeating’, as you never cease to excite your guests with excellent blissful rest and relaxation and an enabling environment for networking”, he added.

The General Manager of the resort, Mr Victor Opoku Minta, expressed appreciation to CIMG for honouring the facility with the award.
“The citation clearly spelt out the mission of the organisation throughout its 25 years in existence, and this will motivate us to continue to deliver rest, relaxation and recreation to our clients for another 25 years,” he stated.
