Ecobank partners Allianz for bancassurance service
Ecobank Ghana has announced a partnership with Allianz Insurance to offer new bancassurance products for its customers.

The partnership will enable Ecobank to distribute general insurance products and services of Allianz through its branch network all over the country.
The two subsequently launched the first of the partner services — the motor insurance — at a ceremony on July 5.
The Managing Director of Ecobank Ghana, Mr Dan Sackey, said through the partnership, Ecobank Ghana would combine its strong footprints in Ghana and Africa with Allianz’s deep insurance expertise to provide the necessary insurance needs for both retail and corporate customers.
“In addition to our extensive branch network, Allianz products will also be available for distribution via our recently developed digital channels, that is, the Ecobank Mobile App and other digital channels which link up all our affiliates in Africa to deliver the products at a highly competitive pricing based on economies of scale,” he said.
He expressed confidence that the partnership would generate further consumer trust and confidence in the insurance industry.
Ecobank Ghana, he said, would continue to look for innovative ways to serve customers.
“We at Ecobank will continue to seek new and innovative ways of pleasing our customers and to gradually become a ‘one stop shop’ where our customers can conveniently access solutions to their lifetime financial needs,” he said.
The new product
The motor insurance product is designed to offer customers a wider convenience in terms of coverage and limits within the road traffic act.
The new product covers motor third party-related liabilities and further allows customers to upgrade to the all risks cover otherwise referred to as motor comprehensive.
Customers who sign on to the policy would be covered under various segments of the policy.
