Atwima Kwanwoma is CIMG Rural Bank of the year 2018
The Atwima Kwanwoma Rural Bank Limited at Pakyi No 2 in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region has been adjudged the CIMG Rural Bank of the year 2018 by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG).
A media release issued by the bank said it was the third time the bank has been adjudged the CIMG Rural Bank of the year after it won the same award in 2013 and 2015.
The award scheme, which acknowledged individuals and organisations for their excellence and innovations in the marketing field.
A citation presented to the bank said it had exhibited character of persistence in its operations by committing to being the leading and preferred rural and community bank in Ghana which was poised to transform lives and business through a motivated work force and need-driven products.
It said the bank’s quest to remain committed to its mission saw the board and management introduce some customer-driven offers in loans and other such products.
“These interventions won the bank 3.64 per cent of the total rural bank market share out of 143 rural banks nationwide,” it said.
Commenting on the award, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the bank, Dr Stephen Sarfo Kantanka, said it was challenging to be recognised as the rural bank of the year in a year that was particularly humbling for the banking sector.
“This is a huge endorsement and this rather challenges us not to rest on our oars but be persistent with our vision and mission and continue to be the pacesetters in rural banking,” he said.
Dr Kantanka dedicated the award to all shareholders, employees and customers of the bank for their commitment to the brand.
