The two-storey brick edifice, with offices and banking halls, will accommodate offices of other GN companies.

The President of Groupe Nduom, a conglomerate of companies, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, said the group was committed to improving the living conditions of all Ghanaians by providing businesses with unique banking services at their doorsteps.

700,000 customers already

He said the bank now had about 700,000 customers and was working hard to hit one million customers by the end of the year.

Dr Nduom stated that to make Ghanaians own the bank and support its growth and share in its profits, the bank would be put on the Ghana Stock Exchange by the end of the year.

He stated that the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank would continue to give conditionalities for every support given and said if the nation was to make meaningful progress in development, Ghanaians must be ready to lead themselves positively.

252 bank locations

He indicated that the GN bank currently had facilities in 252 locations across the country, with 26 branches in the Central Region.

He said the bank would continue to establish more branches to bring banking services to the people and create jobs.

Nduom as flag bearer

Dr Nduom, who is also the flag bearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), said there was no reason for Ghanaians to be poor, considering the numerous natural and human resources available.

He stated that it was worrying that many communities continued to wallow in poverty, saying the leadership of the country must change if things would change for the better.

“Ghanaians were not created to live and die poor, so we must change the country’s leadership to create for ourselves better lives,” he said.

He called on Ghanaians to vote for change, considering what the GN under his leadership had achieved, especially in job creation, and to vote the PPP into power in the forthcoming general election.

The General Manager GN Bank, Adam Issah, said the bank was committed to providing unique banking services for its customers and that “it gives a nine per cent interest rate on savings”.

He said “the bank also gives a life insurance cover of a GH¢1000 to every customer and its branches are all fully networked”.

He also appealed to Ghanaians to save with the bank.

The Omanhen of Mankessim Traditional Area, Nana Amanfo Adu, advised the workers to give their all to grow the company and desist from fraudulent acts that would bring the company down.
