Kempinski Hotel unveils iconic Christmas tree

Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra has set a new standard for festive elegance with the unveiling of its breathtaking Christmas tree adorned with over 220,000 locally crafted beads.

This masterpiece, created in collaboration with Adubea Jensen, a renowned Ghanaian luxury brand, celebrates Ghanaian artistry and culture on a grand scale.

The five-metre-tall tree, unveiled at the hotel’s annual tree lighting ceremony, dazzles with intricate ornaments fashioned into stars, snowflakes, hearts, and miniature handbags. Each ornament was meticulously handmade by skilled local artisans, incorporating beads, white pearls, and crystals. The tree’s total value exceeds a quarter of a million Ghanaian Cedis.

Celebration of Ghanaian Craftsmanship

Speaking at the unveiling, Kempinski Hotel General Manager Hanno Barkhoff praised the unique partnership with Adubea Jensen and highlighted the cultural significance of the design. “This year, we are delighted to partner with Adubea Jensen, a Ghanaian designer, to create an exceptional Christmas tree. Standing proudly in our lobby, the tree adorned with locally crafted ornaments is a beacon of joy and togetherness,” he stated.

He further noted that the initiative aligns with the hotel’s commitment to supporting local communities and preserving Ghana’s cultural heritage, making the festive display more than just a visual marvel but a meaningful celebration of resilience and artistry.

Janet Addoye, CEO of Adubea Jensen Design, expressed her pride in contributing to the project, calling it a significant platform to showcase Ghanaian talent. “We were thrilled to be offered the opportunity to decorate this wonderful Christmas tree, which stands proudly in the hotel’s lobby, telling a story of resilience, heritage, and exquisite craftsmanship,” she said.

The event was graced by the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, alongside dignitaries, guests, and clients of the hotel.
