Magic Malt makes foray in beverage market

 

Indigenous marketing and distribution company, Magicco Ltd, is making significant foray into the domestic beverage market with its flagship product, Magic Malt.

A little more than two years since the company started the distribution of the Dutch-made malt, Magicco, which already partners the Graphic Communications Group Limited on most of its events, is riding on its smart distribution channels and marketing strategies to bring what nutritionists have described as “a healthier malt brand” to the doorstep of the consumer.

The Director of Marketing and Channel Distribution at Magicco Ltd, Mr Leeford Fiifi Grant, told the GRAPHIC BUSINESS that the company was bent on making the Magic Malt product well recognised and a household name to capture a top spot in the malt market in the country.

“Since distribution is critical to the success of every product, we are investing heavily in this to ensure that the consumer gets easy access to our product,” Mr Grant said.

Currently, the company is satisfied with the results of its distribution and awareness creation efforts, but the director of marketing said it would continue to adopt new measures to meet the changing needs of the Ghanaian consumer.

Other products

Besides the flagship Magic Malt, Magicco also distributes five other products in various flavours.

The marketing director said the company was in the process of introducing carbonated soft drinks (CSDs) later in the year.

“We are introducing magic carbonated canned minerals such as Magic Coke, orange and other flavours,” he said.

Healthy properties

Although there are various malt drinks on the Ghanaian market, the public has become health conscious and prefer healthier alternatives.

Mr Grant said guided by that information, Magicco sourced for the high quality and healthy Magic Malt from Holland to help consumers in the Ghanaian market to satisfy their need, saying “today’s consumers are looking for healthy, nutritious and good taste malt which is refreshing.”

Magicco insists that the product provided “Sweet energy to the consumer” because it used the healthier sugar, glucose, which converts directly into energy and gets used in the body metabolism, as opposed to the traditional sugar which converts to fat when not used.

Social responsibility

Even though the company is barely two years, it wants to start giving back to the society.

It has selected the education and health sectors where it hopes to support initiatives and offer some assistance to get people educated and healthy.

The company recently supported The Mirror Family Day out and the Junior Graphic Fun Fair.
