Ogilvy Ghana appoints new M.D.
Mrs Akua Brayie Owusu-Nartey, a consummate Marketer and Strategic Thinker has been appointed the new Managing Director of communications consultancy outfit, Ogilvy and Mather Ghana Limited.
Ogilvy Ghana announced the appointment in a press release issued Tuesday, saying it expects the development to “take the country’s leading advertising and public relations company to the next level.”
“Akua epitomizes the type of integrated marketing leader we need to continue to drive our expansion within Africa and within Ogilvy Worldwide. Ogilvy Ghana will not only benefit from her diverse skills, but also from the vast experience she will bring to bear on its business activities in Ghana,” said Nadja Bellan-White, CEO, Ogilvy Africa.
Over the past 12 years Akua Brayie Owusu-Nartey has been a Marketer, developing campaigns to promote products, services and ideas; a Strategic Thinker, peeling back the layers of consumer behaviour, motivations, what makes them tick and how to build brands; and in recent times a Business Leader, driving change, being responsible for an agency’s overall performance and revenue targets.
She has worked on multiple Nestle brands, Vodafone, Sab Miller, Guinness, Renault and UNICEF. Others include DHL, P&G, Total, Coke, Woodin and Fidelity Bank, notes the release.
For Akua Owusu-Nartey, the appointment is a homecoming, having started her career in advertising at the then MMRS Ogilvy and transitioned with the team to become Scanad Ghana.
In April 2012, her work attracted the attention of Publicis West Africa which consequently head-hunted her to be its Strategic Planner. In October of the following year she rose, yet again, to the position of the General Manager of Publicis Africa Group Ghana with ultimate responsibility for the running of the agency and the quality of its products and services.
Her new appointment at Ogilvy Ghana will see her spearhead the enhancement of the capabilities of an already outstanding agency and its staff, the expansion of its client base, growth in revenues and further improved marketing reputation.
“I am excited to be back at Ogilvy, I look forward to doing world class work with the team and nurturing a healthy profitable business,” she enthused upon assumption of duty.
