PBC ventures into hotel industry

The Produce Buying Company (PBC) has ventured fully into the hospitality industry with the setting up of the Golden Bean Hostel in Kumasi.

The facility will be inaugurated by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on Friday, July 31, 2015.

According to the PBC, it has put in place appropriate strategies to monitor and effectively and efficiently manage the various investment projects being undertaken to ensure maximum returns.

It hopes that its two subsidiaries, PBC Shea Limited and the Golden Bean Hotel Limited, will be weaned off to make them self-sufficient and have them contribute meaningfully to the total corporate effort.

The General Manager of the Golden Bean Hotel, Mr James Amarkai, said it was venturing into the hospitality industry because it was looking forward to casting its net wider.
He said the company could not rely solely on cocoa, and so wanted to go into the hospitality industry.

“Business has been wonderful. It has been good,” he said, adding that the facility would be formally inaugurated on Friday, July 31.

The Golden Bean Hotel (15-minute drive from the Kumasi Airport) has been structured to give a feel of home. Its business yet homely and friendly ambience is complemented by a highly trained staff.

Its accommodation, restaurant and bars, conference, lush garden, fitness centre and swimming pool facilities offer reliable and efficient services topped up with an attitude for total care and satisfaction.
