Betway, one of the world’s leading online sports betting and gaming companies, has announced the appointment of football legend Thierry Henry as its new global ambassador.

The announcement, made ahead of the start of the 2025/26 European football season, marks a significant addition to Betway’s ambassadorial team and reflects the company’s deepening ties with the sport. Henry, one of the most iconic figures in modern football, is expected to play a key role in producing exclusive content and sharing expert insights with Betway customers around the world.

“Thierry Henry is a true football legend and sporting great, and it is with immense pleasure that we welcome him into the Betway family of ambassadors and partners,” said Neal Menashe, Chief Executive Officer of Super Group, the holding company for Betway. “Our deal with Thierry’s former club Arsenal has been a flagship part of our marketing strategy over the last two years. We look forward to sharing his expert insights and exclusive content with our customers across the world.”

Henry’s career achievements are widely celebrated. The Frenchman began his professional journey at AS Monaco before moving to Juventus in Italy and then establishing himself as a global superstar at English Premier League side Arsenal. During his time in North London, Henry became the club’s all-time leading scorer and won two Premier League titles, including one as part of the famous “Invincibles” team, and three FA Cups. He later joined Barcelona, where he helped the Spanish giants to an unprecedented six-trophy haul in the 2008/09 season, including the UEFA Champions League.

At international level, Henry played a pivotal role in France’s 1998 FIFA World Cup triumph on home soil and their UEFA Euro 2000 victory. Since retiring from professional football, he has taken on coaching roles and become a respected football pundit.

Speaking on the new partnership, Henry expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. “Football’s always been about action and excitement, and that’s what Betway brings to fans in a unique way. I’m really looking forward to being part of something that connects people to the game they love,” he said.

The deal comes at a pivotal time in the global football calendar, as domestic leagues resume across Europe and the road to the FIFA World Cup 2026 in North America gathers momentum. Henry’s addition is expected to bolster Betway’s brand visibility and fan engagement in key markets.
